The Cave Mining Forum’s mission is to strengthen the connection between and collaboration among those working in the cave mining community.
We do this by providing a space where members can connect, exchange ideas and perspectives, and access resources and information — all of which help advance individual careers and the cave mining field.
Our purpose is to strengthen the sense of cave mining community among those working in the cave mining field.
This field has a rich heritage of innovation and discovery. The forum works to continue that heritage by providing a way of connecting members outside of projects and conferences that supports their work and professional development, whether a seasoned expert or someone new to cave mining.
Anything worthwhile takes time to develop. Our vision is to build something together—an authentic community where members share their experiences and learn from one another.
Jarek Jakubec, Founder
The Cave Mining Forum was founded by Jarek Jakubec, a corporate consultant with SRK Consulting (Vancouver) and a leading expert in mining diamond deposits and cave mining. He has travelled extensively to complete concept- to feasibility-level studies for over 160 mining projects in 34 countries. Jarek is a promoter of responsible and sustainable mining practices and is active in the research, benchmarking, and operations-related aspects of mass mining, receiving the CIM Mining Engineering Outstanding Achievement Aware in Mass Mining from CIM (2019). The Cave Mining Forum reflects his dedication to advancing the cave mining profession through community and knowledge sharing.
